Located in the heart of Pulau Tikus is a proud home of several famous cuisines Penang has to offer. Smack right in the middle of Burma Road, this historical street plays home to a number of hawkers. Right on the start of Burma Road in the Pulau Tikus district in Penang is the recently opened Wan Tan Mee House, which has been churning out lip-smacking noodles for years.
The biggest draw at here would obviously be the Wan Tan Noodles, which is essentially meat dumplings served on a bed of egg noodles. Having been around for decades in the adjoining Swee Kong Coffee Shop, the owner made a bold move to open his own shop and it has clearly paid off.
On the other hand, the Wan Tan Mee is served garnished with roasted lean pork, leafy vegetables and a couple of dumplings. The noodles are the drawing point with its crunchiness and texture, while the dumplings are equally scrumptious. Choices of noodle include the original egg noodles, hor fun (variation of rice noodle), or even bee hun (vermicelli).

Furthermore, their wantan soup is a common order for many. The wantan skin wrappers are delicate filled with generous amount of minced meat, and then served in the rich stock soup which brims with taste.

Prices are kept reasonable, with a bowl of small, medium and large noodles costing RM4.50, RM5.50 and RM6.50 respectively and the bowl of dumplings is RM5.00. As with most food places, this eatery has been extensively covered by other journalist and bloggers as well.
