I never get enough of this Hainanese restaurant – Shing Kheang Aun , not only the food but also the surroundings. Stepping on the concrete steps immediately brings back memories of childhood days spent in this type of prewar houses.
Some of the furniture looks similar and so are the cooking utensils which were used by my grandmother to dish up the delicious home cook meals for us each time we visited her.
I remembered my grandmother uses this type of metal bowls and coconut husk ladle.
The cooks dishes out many Hainanese favorites.
There are not many of this type of restaurants left in George Town, Penang. It's a waste that some of them have make way for modernization...
