Batu Maung is among one of the beautiful tourist attractions in Penang island. The fishing village nearby, coupled with the Temple which houses the footsteps of Emperor Cheng Ho, makes this place a great hit for locals and tourist alike.
To get to this place, just take the Coastal Highway/ Bayan Lepas Expressway towards Batu Maung (the highway behind the electronic firms at the Free Trade Zone). At the end of the expressway, you will reach the traffic lights. Go straight and after a short distance, take the first left turn. From there onwards, the road will lead you up a small hill passing the War Museum. After the museum, you can see the car park on the left hand side. Click for the Map Location.
Do check out the Batu Maung Seafood Restaurant just beside the Sam Poh Footprint Temple that serves variety of fresh seafood source directly from the fishing boats piling beside the restaurant.
Batu Maung seafood restaurant beside Sam Poh Temple was demolished for a new project, so dont waste ur time to go there :-))
