The Pinang Peranakan Mansion is located at Church Street, Penang. This “Baba Nyonya” Museum showcases the lifestyle and culture of the eclectic Chinese Straits Settlement in Penang known as the Peranakan. The main entrance of the mansion has a pair of elaborated and highly intricately carved Chinese wooden door.
Besides the main entrance, there are two side entrances with ornamental wrought iron gate attached to a concrete pillar which has a metal crown sitting on top of it...indeed an indication of the early British Empire ruling in Penang.
The right side iron gate opens up to a huge court yard with a view of the beautiful veranda with gold painted floral iron railing.
Pinang Peranakan Mansion which is displayed with many antiques, collectibles and pieces of art and artifacts related to the colorful lifestyle of the Baba Nyonya of Penang is truly a place to visit.
